Hillsboro ExhibitsIf you or your organization is planning to organize an occasion in Hillsboro, then ensure to update in the community calendar. It is free to post the event. You can notify the event that you are planning in the month of October 2015. The Hillsboro team will include the event in various marketing events during and before October. Visit the community calendar page and submit your event by clicking the button. They are interested to showcase various activities involving arts and culture. It should not restrict or limited to film, theater, dance, literary art, visual art, and music. If you are organizing a workshop, art class, artist’s market, tour, lecture, reception, exhibition, programs or other celebration, ensure to post in their calendar.

Event SubmissionsInnovative Hillsboro Art Show

The show will be running from October 6 to 21. The members and the team of creative Hillsboro will conduct the arts and craft exhibition that includes small artworks. It will be displayed inside the front door. It takes place at Hillsboro Public Library – Shute Park branch. The exhibition is opened during the library hours. The visitors can enter at free of cost.

Sequoia Gallery Plein Air: Annual Event

It is scheduled from October 6 to 30. The opening ceremony is on October 6. It takes place from 5 PM to 8 PM. The show will feature local paintings created in the last four days. All are welcome to see the beautiful and fresh paintings of artists. The annual event Sequoia Gallery Plien Air is also termed as Washington County show. It also includes artworks by thirteen on-site studios and thirty additional artists. It will be remain open after the reception. The working hours of the event are 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM. It is open from Tuesday to Saturday. The entry is free.

Green Cab Exhibit

It is scheduled on October 13, 2015. The time may vary. The Green Cab is a working artist group in West Washington Country. The group will be hanging new art events twice a month. The reception and formal opening of the show are planned to remain on second Tuesday of every month. Light refreshments and musical entertainment are available. It will take place at Hillsboro Community Senior Center. The entry is free for this event.

Art Exhibit: Finding the Way Home

It is scheduled on October 16, 2015. It will take place from 6 PM to 9 PM. The exhibition will display the works and paintings of famous artist Stefanie.

Apothecary for the Anthropocene by Deanna Pindell in Oregon

 

ExhibitionThe Anthropocene is the term used to explain a new period in which human action applies significant control over global environmental situations. Artist Deanna Pindell plays a significant role in the allegorical apothecary installation. Is the environmental crisis and looming climate remains cured by widespread cultural change, personal responsibility, and self reflection? It helps to discover where we position as a species along with the environment sustaining us. The Portland Building Installation Space will be displayed with riddles in sets on the walls.

anthropocenePindell will be showcasing the riddles to the viewers. The viewers can easily get answers to the riddles with the help of mason jars escalated on the shelves. There will be more than one hundred mason jars arranged on the shelves. The jar will contain relic or some figure of a physical artifact. It will remain as a reference where our society has planned to make unconsciously or consciously. The jar contains com seeds that are genetically modified, coupons from Walmart and tiny bird skull.

You need to visit Portland Building to view the exhibition. It is situated at 1120 SW 5th Avenue, Downtown Portland. It is open from 8AM to 5PM. It will be opened from Monday to Friday. Apothecaries for the Anthropocene will remain open from September 28 and runs throughout October 23, 2015.

Call for Artists: Kenmore Town Green

Art

The City’s latest Town Green requires iconic, singular piece of sculptural artwork to be placed in the outdoor area. The Kenmore city in Washington invites artist team and artist to take up and execute this project. The Town Green will begin construction during October or November of 2015. It is planned to get completed by 2016 summer. The commissioned artwork is estimated to perform the following in order to balance the new Town Green in purpose and design.

The art piece should be memorable and iconic

The commissioned artwork should be the main art since visitors in the Town Green remember, notice and connect the artwork with Kenmore thereafter.

It should make people smile

The commissioned art piece will delight and engage visitors of all age groups who visit the Town Green. They welcome arts that are kinetic and interactive in nature.

The Kenmore Town Green is openly invited candidates or artists with suitable qualifications. The application forms will be checked, and five finalists will be selected for interviews. The installation will begin by the month of June 2017. The design phase will be between January and April 2016.

The deadline to submit the application for the art project is October 26, 2015. It should be submitted by 5.00 PM.
